Privacy Policy
Effective July 11, 2026
1. Who is responsible for your information
The estimator is operated by Big D & AI on behalf of the local business whose brand appears on the page (the “Business”). When you submit your details to get a refined estimate or request a visit, we share them with that Business so it can serve you. Big D & AI and the Business each use your information as described here; the Business’s own privacy practices also apply to how it contacts and serves you.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Your name, email address, phone number, and ZIP code.
- Project details you enter into the estimator — the type of work, rooms and sizes, options you pick, and your project timeframe.
- Anything you type into a message, note, or “how can we help” field, and your consent choices.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser information (device type, user agent, screen size, language, time zone, connection type).
- Your approximate location derived from your IP address, and the IP address itself.
- How you reached the page — the referring website, UTM campaign tags, and advertising click identifiers (such as Google’s gclid, Meta’s fbclid, and Microsoft’s msclkid), and the landing page and link you used.
- Usage and analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Notice).
We do not ask for, and you should not enter, sensitive information such as government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health information. The estimator does not require you to create an account or password.
3. How we use your information
- To generate your instant estimate and, when you ask, refine it and connect you with the local Business.
- To let the Business follow up with you about your project by phone, email, or text (see “Communications” below).
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the estimator, and to understand which marketing brings visitors (analytics and attribution).
- To keep records of the consent you provided and to comply with legal obligations.
4. Communications
When you submit the form, you agree that the Business (and Big D & AI and service providers acting for it) may contact you by phone, email, or text message about your estimate and project. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Consent to marketing messages is not a condition of any purchase. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP, and unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in the message or by contacting us. You may still receive non-marketing messages needed to respond to your request.
5. How we share your information
- The local Business whose brand you interacted with — so it can prepare your estimate and contact you. If you are outside that Business’s service area, we may pass your details to the nearest participating Business instead.
- Service providers that run the platform for us — hosting and infrastructure (Google Firebase/Cloud), analytics (Google Analytics), and message/email delivery providers — which process data only on our instructions.
- Analytics and advertising measurement — we use Google Analytics, and we capture advertising click identifiers (such as gclid/fbclid) as first-party data to measure our own marketing. We do not currently run third-party advertising or remarketing pixels. If we add advertising/measurement tags from partners such as Google or Meta in the future, their use of cookies may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising — see “Your California privacy rights.”
- Legal and safety — when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site function, analytics, and advertising attribution. For details and your choices, see our Cookie Notice.
7. Data retention
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it. We set retention using the type of data and the purpose it serves — for example:
- Lead and inquiry records (your contact details, project answers, and estimate) — retained while the local Business works your inquiry and for a reasonable follow-up and record-keeping period afterward, typically up to about 24 months from your last activity, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Analytics data — retained on a rolling basis (generally up to about 14–26 months) and then deleted or aggregated.
- Consent and legal records — retained as long as needed to evidence consent and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify your request and respond as required by law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know / access — the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of parties we disclose it to.
- Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — we do not sell your information for money, and we do not currently share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes (for example, if we add advertising pixels), you can opt out at any time (see below).
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
Categories collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (name, email, phone, ZIP, IP); internet/device activity (usage, referrer, device/browser); approximate geolocation (from IP); and commercial/inquiry information (your project details and requests). Sources, uses, and disclosures are described in Sections 2–5.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
To opt out of the “sharing” of your information for cross-context behavioral advertising, you can:
- Email us at privacy@bigdandai.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share,” or
- Use a browser or extension that sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — we treat a valid GPC signal as a request to opt out of sharing for that browser.
You may also use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, as permitted by law.
11. Children’s privacy
The estimator is intended for adults arranging home-improvement work and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Effective” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice where appropriate.
